New year Plans
We if you are like me I love Christmas but now it is almost here and everything is done. Its time to think of show season next year. I even took my bridles home to clean then today. January to me is the time to start preparing a little bit more aggressively. So that means tune up existing training and start working on the new stuff. I like to go back to basics then layer on the new so the horse doesn't get frustrated or me for that matter.Unique will go to a a three day event this year.. our first. So that should be interesting then the rest of the season will be spent at the dressage shows. The first thing I need to work on is conditioning so take advantage of the snow if you can and go for a short trot out in the deep snow it does wonders for the legs and really helps the hind end get in gear. To get out your journal write do you progress it really helps to be able to go back to last years notes and see how much they have improved. What was hard then is easy for them now it gives you a solid jump off point to go by, and helps you find a plan that is going to help your horse learn the fastest.
